Ready for the Future

To:   All Public, Healthcare & Education Workers Local Presidents

On October 25, 2005, your local received a letter from my office regarding The Ready For The Future resolution.  The letter outlined a process and a time line for you to submit your local's plan and suggestions for change as required by the resolution that was passed at the August 2005 CWA convention.

My letter also included a copy of CWA's Ready For The Future Resolution Guide as well as the CWA Discussion Guide.  The Discussion Guide must be filled out and returned to the Public, Healthcare and Education Workers sector office.  The deadline to submit this guide to my office has been extended from December 9, 2005 to January 20, 2006.

It is very important for your local to return this guide to my office by this date if you desire to have input into the sector's final report that will be given to the CWA Executive Board.

The Public, Healthcare and Education Action Resource Network (PHEARN) will meet at The Radisson Hotel located at 20967 U.S. Highway 19 North, in Clearwater, Florida, from February 3 through February 5, 2006, to review local responses and compile a written report.  Any sector local officer is free to join PHEARN and participate in this process.
